Algonquin, Groton-Dunstable, Bromfield, Gardner sweep team titles at Mid-Wach XC championships

Boys' cross-country

Mid-Wach A Championship: Stephen White (16:34.92), Christopher Kardos (16:39.26) and Joseph Lamburn (16:53.7) finished just behind Wachusett's Dylan Brenn (16:34.1) to help Algonquin claim the team title with 22 points on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Aidan Ruiz (sixth, 17:16.55), Jonah Gould (seventh, 17:30.56) and Matthew Zhang (eighth, 17:33.31) also had strong races for Algonquin.

Shrewsbury's Chris Guerin (17:10.54) was fifth and teammate Adam Boulay (17:40.82) was ninth to help the Colonials take second with 60 points. Wachusett was third with 62 points.

Westborough's Vamsi Ankalu (17:33.31) was 10th to lead the Rangers to fifth with 108 points, while Shepherd Hill had 139 points.

Mid-Wach B Championship: Neil Aradhya (second, 16:50.1), Greyson Duane (third, 17:04.17), Zak Metzger (fourth, 17:54.46), John Terhune (sixth, 18:01.5) and Micah Pierzntozzi (seventh, 18:10.22) helped Groton-Dunstable win the team title with 22 points on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Nashoba's Adam Balewicz (16:18.45) topped the course to help the Wolves take second with 50 points. Nashoba's Jack London was eighth (18:13.89) and Luke Curcio (18:20.58) was ninth.

Oakmont's Jayden Brostrom (18:35.97) was 10th to help the Spartans take third with 84 points. North Middlesex's Samuel Donovan (18:01.45) was fifth.

Mid-Wach C Championship: Bromfield's Ben McWaters (17:11.49) was second, Jack Stahl (17:32.4) was fourth, Harrison Binnick (18:05.31) was fifth, Christian Johannesen (18:20.83) was seventh, Charlie Gowei (18:45.51) was eighth and Liam Kemeza (19:08.92) was 10th as the Trojans topped the field with 26 points on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Littleton's Timothy Rank (16:39.03) won the race as the Tigers took second with 42 points. Littleton's Bona Bradshaw (17:17.3) was third and Brady Morvay (18:07.85) was sixth.

Lunenburg's Connor Martin (18:53.45) was ninth as the Blue Knights took third with 95 points.

Mid-Wach D Championship: Gardner's Telmo Iturbe (19:14.5) topped the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg, while teammate Sokari Jenkins (19:42.98) was third as the Wildcats won the team title with 22 points on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Gardner's Ari Curvas (fifth, 19:53.57), Michael Gemelli (sixth, 19:54.93), Bradley Bettez (seventh, 19:57.48) and Noah Johnson (ninth, 20:06.68) also finished strong.

Jake Leone (19:22.9) was second as Ayer-Shirley took second with 63 points. Maynard's Konrad Schluter (19:46.74) was fourth as the Tigers took third with 86 points. Narragansett's Julian Haydar (20:06.35) rounded out the top 10 as the Warriors were fourth with 91 points.

Girls' cross-country

Mid-Wach A Championship: Brigid Purcell (third, 21:01.21), Olivia Guckian (fifth, 21:12.61), Sheila Purcell (sixth, 21:15.76) and Tanvi Mehta (seventh, 21:18.26) helped Algonquin claim the team title with 30 points on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Wachusett's Naomi Witt won the race in 19:38.66 as the Mountaineers took second with 44 points.

Westborough's Regan Kittredge was second (20:32.55) and teammate Julia Young was eighth (21:28.12) as the Rangers were third with 62 points. Shepherd Hill's Megan Andress (21:06.13) was fourth and Emily Hultgren (21:31.61) was ninth and Shrewsbury's Greta Nickerson (21:32.21) rounded out the top 10.

Mid-Wach B Championship: Georgia Brooks (20:09.83) was second, while Hannah Mandel (22:50.93) was fifth and Catherine Daly (22:58.44) was sixth as Groton-Dunstable ran to the team title with 33 points over the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Nashoba's Caroline Collins (19:58.73) won the race, while teammate Jillian Valentino (23:55.38) was eighth and Deirbhile Nagle (24:02.96) was 10th for the Wolves, who had four runners compete.

Oakmont's McKinley Chabot (21:53.5) was third as the Spartans took second with 58 points. North Middlesex's Caitlin Kimball was fourth (22:34.89) and teammate Sarah Swartz (23:59.22) was ninth, while Leominster's Anna Serafini (23:08.51) was seventh.

Mid-Wach C Championship: Evelyn Wool (19:55.95), Rosie Bradley (20:40.5) and Isabel Jackson (21:25.16) took the top three spots to help Bromfield take the team title with 27 points on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Emma Squire (21:41.16) was sixth for the Trojans.

Tyngsborough's Isabella Duarte (21:34.24) was fourth, while Hudson's Rachel Korowski (fifth, 21:36) and Julia Klinedinst (seventh (21:50.58) helped the Hawks place second (45 points).

Lunenburg's Lauren Long (27:26.26), Littleton's Abby Rose Reid (22:30.39) and Quabbin's Daniella Gaudreault (22:32.08) rounded out the top 10.

Mid-Wach D Championship: Megan Bettez (21:08.64) was second, Krista Bettez (21:22.52) was third and Avah Zelesky (23:20.68) was ninth as Gardner held off Tahanto for the team title, 42-52, on the 3.1-mile course at Pierce Tree Farm in Lunenburg.

Murdock's Avery Murphy (20.37.37) won the race, while Tahanto's Chloe Casperson (21:31.9) was fourth and teammate Julia Viuad (22:05.2) was fifth.

Narragansett's Leah Deane (22:30.5) was sixth and teammate Sarha Massicotte (23.15) was eighth, while Ayer-Shirley's Caroline Mason (seventh, 22:58.33) and Ada Perwak (23:36.31) also finished in the top 10.
