Alabama Softball’s Jaala Torrence throws no-hitter to help lead Tide to 10-0 victory

Alabama junior pitcher Jaala Torrence had an outstanding outing on the mound on Saturday. The Tide defeated Robert Morris 10-0 and Torrence threw a no-hitter. Her no-hitter became the 42nd in program history.

The Tide were led offensively by graduate senior Lauren Esman and freshman Kenleigh Cahalan.

Esman went 2-for-3 at the plate while driving in two runs. Cahalan also went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs, as well.

Alabama improved to 14-3 with the win while the Colonials fell to 5-7 on the new season. Alabama is scheduled to return to action on Saturday for their second game of the day against Longwood. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:30 CST.
