Alabama’s Matt Rhea reportedly heading to New Orleans to be with the Saints
The Crimson Tide made a great hire in 2020 when they reached out and grabbed Matt Rhea to become its Director of Sports Performance, but it seems now that his tenure at Alabama is coming to an end after a solid two seasons of work.
It is being reported by Josh Pate of 247Sports and CBS Sports HQ that Rhea has accepted a position on staff with the New Orleans Saints to assist new head coach Dennis Allen.
Last week, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reported that the Saints were interested in Rhea and David Ballou, the other half of Alabama’s dynamic strength and conditioning duo, as they were looking to replace longtime strength coach Dan Dalrymple.
It appears, according to Pate, that Ballou will remain in Tuscaloosa for the time being, which is sure to be welcome news to Tide fans.
