Alabama basketball will try to score a win in its SEC opener against Mississippi State on Wednesday.
The game will tip off at 8 p.m. on SEC Network in Starkville, Miss. The Crimson Tide wrapped up a non-conference schedule that featured two wins over No. 1 teams, Houston and North Carolina, and losses to Gonzaga and now No. 2 UConn. The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 9 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
The Crimson Tide (10-2) is coming off an 84-64 win over Jackson State. Noah Gurley led the way with 16 points with Mark Sears adding 15 points. Brandon Miller added 10 points and 14 rebounds.
The No. 20 Bulldogs (11-1) are coming off their first loss of the season to Drake, falling 58-52 before last week. Eric Reed Jr. led the way with 11 points while Tulo Smith had nine points and six rebounds.
