Ahead of Masters, DraftKings announces Bryson DeChambeau partnership

Expect to see a new logo on Bryson DeChambeau’s golf cap when he tees it up at the Masters later this month. DeChambeau has entered into a multi-year relationship with DraftKings, a digital sports entertainment company launched in 2012 that encompasses daily fantasy, regulated gaming and digital media. He becomes the first active pro golfer to represent the company.

Part of DeChambeau’s partnership with the company provides fan opportunities such as playing a round of golf or receiving golf lessons from the big-hitting pro. According to DraftKings, golf is the fourth-most popular sport for daily fantasy. The company also reported that excluding NFL games, the 2019 Masters was among the top 5 highest-best sporting events on DraftKings.

DeChambeau will arrive at Augusta National two months removed from winning his first major title at the U.S. Open.

“It’s pretty cool,” DeChambeau told Golfweek. “They are a company that is pretty young and thriving and for me, personally, the whole fantasy golf space, the whole betting world, is getting bigger and bigger and I want to be associated with a brand that is growing the game and exposing the game in different areas.

“This is the future. And I want to be a part of that.”

In addition to DraftKings, DeChambeau also represents Cobra/Puma, Rolex, FlightScope, Bridgestone, NetJets and Bentley Motors, to name a few.

With the Masters moved back to November, the final round at Augusta National will overlap an NFL Sunday for the first time. DraftKings will run its first multi-sport pool as a result, offering a $100,000 free-to-play pool that ties in to both sports.

“Professional golf has been a key growth sport in both daily fantasy and sports betting, and our collaboration with Bryson DeChambeau is a notable new layer of mainstream brand exposure and fan experience,” Jason Robins, co-founder and CEO of DraftKings, said in a release. “As one of golf’s most promising athletes and the current U.S. Open champion, DraftKings is strategically aligning with winning athletes like Bryson who embody and embolden the competitive fire of our customers.”
