Comic-Con has been a little bit thin on the ground for movies this year, but at least the new trailer for Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok gave us plenty of new sights to feast our eyes upon.

Marvel's third Thor film is getting deep into Norse myth, and here's everything we learned from the latest peek.

1. Hulk can talk

So, we've had a few, mostly disconnected words out of Hulk, but part of his off-world capture seems to have involved elocution lessens, as he's worked his way up to (almost) full sentences. He'll be speechifying like Loki before we know it.

2. Team Thor

This new trailer shifts the action forwards a bit from Thor's capture to his return to Asgard. The god of thunder is "putting together a team, like the old days". Mark Ruffalo's Hulk is on board, but this isn't the Avengers, as the other two members are Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and... er... Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

3. Skurge is team Hela

Cate Blanchett's Hela isn't alone either. Details have been pretty scarce on Karl Urban's Skurge the Executioner up until this point, although we had pretty much assumed he would be playing a bad guy.

You see, despite mainly being a villain, he's actually best known for fighting Hela to allow his fellow Asgardians to escape her underworld, which puts him in a bit of a grey area historically. But in this movie it looks like he's definitely her minion.

4. Fenris

Hulk faces off against a giant wolf. We don't know whether that's supposed to be Hela or one of her minions transformed, but mythologically speaking it's Fenris, a child of Loki (like Hela herself) who is destined to devour Odin at Ragnarok, the Norse apocalypse. His presence makes the whole 'end of the world' thing promised in the title seem more than just an idle threat.

We don't know how much the film will reflect the myths, as from what we know about Hela, she is unlikely to be Loki's kid in the MCU.

5. Thor doesn't need his hammer

"What were you the god of again?"

Mjolnir might have been destroyed, but it turns out Thor doesn't need it to play with a bit of thunder and lightning. Do you think that's enough of a reminder for Hela?

6. Hulk has a new haircut

Black Widow's hair is under constant scrutiny, so it would be remiss of us not to point out that Hulk has a new do under his helmet, too.

Judging by Thor's new look, Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) obviously has a thing for short-back-and-sides among his gladiatorial slaves.

7. Surtur

Finally, the confirmation of a long-standing rumour. The final shot shows Hulk taking on another monster of Norse mythology, the fire giant Surtur. Ol' Surtur is a classic enemy of Marvel's Thor, whose appearances are usually a bit more infrequent and (potentially) apocalyptic than other villains like Loki and Malekith.

We don't know what his role in the film will be, but you can bet that Hela is involved.
