7 Outrageous Luxury Gifts For Skiers

This article originally appeared on Ski Mag

It’s not always you are looking for a gift, no matter the price tag, but every once in a while, the stars align, and so does the shopping. We have compiled a list of the finest luxury items that will melt even the most frozen of skier’s hearts. From jackets to glasses, the products below will be sure to help skiers strut their style and enjoy the finer things this season.

Aviator Nation Bolt Luxe Apres Puffer Jacket ($875)

This jacket may have apres in the name, but it deserves a spot on the luxury list because anyone wearing it will feel just as luxe as they look cool at any time of the day. Inspired by retro bombers, the jacket channels what we all wish to be on the mountain: a bit more rad. This type of item will guarantee an “I need to know where you bought that” conversation upon wearing. Gold accent zippers and a subtle logo on the front chest compliment the jacket’s signature lightning bolt. Aviator Nation is female-owned and handmade in California, so the jacket fits chic and snug around the waist with a synch. Consider sizing up if you are between sizes for your giftee (or yourself).

Illesteva Memphis Sunglasses ($240)

Everything old is new again, and retro sunglasses are BACK! Funky sunglasses are the perfect gift for your favorite skier because they’ll spice up any outfit while protecting your eyes from bright afternoon light. Illesteva glasses are handmade in France and Italy and inspired by the streets of NYC. They only have one brick-and-mortar location, so you can be sure your glasses won’t be the same as everyone else on the mountain. The lenses in the Memphis style are UV400, so wearers will be protected from harmful UV in sun or cloud cover. Best of all, we think they look pretty perfectly styled with a beanie!

Arc’teryx Proton Lightweight Hoody ($260)

If your giftee has asked for a new hoodie, do them one better by gifting the Proton Lightweight Hoodie from Arc’teryx. This is the perfect outdoor jacket. It’s lightweight, extremely breathable, and will keep you much warmer than your average cotton hoodie, and of course, there’s a hood. We love that the hoodie is great for all seasons. In the warmer months, it’s suitable on its own, and in the winter, it’s the perfect layering piece. While Arc’teryx may not be the type of luxury people flock to Paris or Milan for, we think it’s perfectly high-end for any skier.

Arc’teryx Artel Zip Neck Women’s ($220)

Sure, you could buy any quarter zip, but this quarter zip from Arc’teryx is fit with a female figure in mind, and it’s great for anyone in the market for a sleek, waterproof, windproof quarter zip jacket. This jacket hits right at the hipline and comes with an adjustable synch if you’re looking to minimize airflow. We found this Q-zip to be excellent on its own for runners, hikers, and climbers and a great heavy mid-layer for downhill skiing. Like any good quarter zip, the Artel has a waterproof chest pocket and two zippered front pockets, the perfect luxury staple for your outdoorsy giftee!

Heli-Ski Gift Certificate

Perhaps the finest luxury ski experience is granting several days of Heli Skiing. While there is no shortage of heli-ski packages, the Ruby Mountain Heli Experience is a perfect all-encompassing gift. The package guarantees at least 16 runs over the course of three days with lodging, meals, guides, rentals, and a beer! Another heli-ski company, CMH, offers gift certificates for tours in myriad ski areas in the Canadian Rockies and trips spanning one to eight days (contact the sales team to purchase). CMH also offers female-only powder trips, but you’ll need to plan early-- this winter is already sold out.

AspenX Relaxed Cashmere Turtleneck ($650)

If cozy, cool, and cashmere are at the forefront of your giftee’s mood board this year, chances are the perfect gift is a cashmere sweater, preferably one that reps their favorite winter activity: skiing. The relaxed cashmere turtleneck from ASPENX is the perfect cozy and loose-fitting cashmere sweater and comes in black and white. With a subtle Aspen acorn logo, this is the perfect ski sweater that’s classy yet refined.

Celine Ski Goggles ($680)

The fancier the goggles, the better the skier. Sure, why not? If you’re in the market for designer ski goggles, look no further because the Celine ski goggles are some of the coolest we’ve ever seen. Complete with metal studs and an embroidered Celine strap. These goggles are luxuries that shine as bright as you do. The silver lenses also serve dual purposes: protecting UVA and UVB light while oozing chicness. One size fits all, and the goggles are unisex. They come with their own branded carrying case--and we recommend you keep them safe and protected!

Faction x Prada Linea Rossa Prodigy 1.0 skis ($4,500)

Prada certainly isn’t the first, nor the last, designer to come out with their own skis. However, they are the first to team up with legendary ski company Faction, so they deserve a spot on the list. With their iconic Prada red coloring, you’ll be strutting downhill and up as skiers below your lift will ooh and ahh. The skis are designed for all-mountain, so you can take them anywhere (although we recommend staying away from icy, rocky, or dirty terrain for obvious reasons). The skis have an 88mm width and medium/soft flex. Since they’re limited edition, each ski will have a unique serial number engraved on the surface and come in lengths ranging from 164 to 178.
