Here are 5 games to watch in Week 4 of Bucks County area high school football season

It's barely the middle of September and we're already in Week 4 of the high school football season.

It just flies by every year.

So, with that in mind, what are the Top Five Games to Watch this week.

We take a look here. Also, remember, most of the Courier Times/Intelligencer-area games will be played Thursday due to the Jewish holiday.

Here goes:

Central Bucks South (3-0) at Central Bucks East (2-1), 7 p.m. (Thursday)

The Titans get a true test here after an early-season schedule in which they faced teams that are a combined 2-7.

In Week 3, South had no trouble with winless Council Rock North as it rolled to a 47-0 victory in which it led 40-0 at halftime.

The Titans will face an East side coming off its first loss, a 23-21 verdict against unbeaten Souderton, that wasn't decided until the closing minutes.

This is the Suburban One League National Conference opener for both teams. The Patriots won this matchup in 2022 by a 21-7 score.

Pennsbury hosts undefeated Central Bucks West on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Pennsbury hosts undefeated Central Bucks West on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Central Bucks West (3-0) at Pennsbury (2-1), 7 p.m. (Thursday)

A good one here as the unbeaten Bucks, who have already avenged 2022 regular-season losses to Garnet Valley and Upper Dublin, look to avenge a 26-21 loss to the Falcons from a year ago in the SOL National Conference opener for both teams.

West is coming off a 40-20 win over Quakertown in Week 3 in which the Panthers kept things tight until halftime before the Bucks put the game away after the break.

The Falcons have rebounded nicely after a Week 1 loss to Coatesville by dispatching William Tennent and then Council Rock South, 28-19, in Week 3.

Hatboro-Horsham (2-1) at William Tennent (1-2), 7 p.m. (Thursday)

The Hatters are one of the feel-good stories of the early going as they're looking for their third win already (not too shabby considering H-H was 1-20 since 2020 coming into the season).

The Hatters blanked Springfield (Montco) 27-0 last week, bouncing back nicely from a 41-40 loss to Wissahickon in Week 2.

They'll see a Panthers team that gave first-year head coach Colin Leach his first win, 21-20 over Upper Merion.

This is not a SOL American Conference game since the Hatters are in their second season of playing an independent schedule. The Panthers won this matchup 30-18 a year ago.

Lower Moreland (1-1) at Morrisville (0-3), 7 p.m. (Thursday)

The Lions did not play in Week 1 and are coming off a 24-13 victory over winless Jenkintown in Week 3 after being blanked by Bristol, 41-0, in their opener in Week 2.

As for the Bulldogs, they'll be out to get new head coach Mitch Cohen his first victory.

Morrisville played tough against Pennington (N.J.) in Week 3 in a 14-0 defeat, marking the second time the Bulldogs have been blanked this season.

These two teams did not face each last year.

Lansdale Catholic (2-1) vs. Neumann-Goretti (1-1), 6 p.m., at 10th & Bigler streets, Philadelphia (Saturday)

The Crusaders, who lost to Neumann-Goretti 26-7 a year ago, rebounded from a 35-7 loss to Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Week 2 by thumping winless Kensington by the same 35-7 score in Week 3.

This will mark the first game for the Saints against a Pennsylvania team after they played Elder (Ohio) on Opening Night (a loss) and Canarsie (New York), a 28-0 win, in Week 3.

The Saints have been really good against Pennsylvania teams considering they reached the PIAA Class 3A title game a year ago, where they were edged by Belle Vernon, 9-8.

This is the Philadelphia Catholic League Blue Division opener for both teams.
