Here are 42 Augusta-area high school softball players you need to keep an eye on in 2023

High school softball season is already underway in Georgia and there's a lot to be excited about.

As school began for several counties in the Augusta-area last week, softball teams were already suiting up for their season openers. We enter the 2023 season with a number of Georgia teams hopeful to make it to Columbus for the Georgia High School Association elite eight tournament. Both Harlem and Greenbrier are the favorites to do so, but teams like Grovetown, Evans and Lakeside always put themselves in good spots to have success.

While North Augusta doesn't begin play until the spring, the Lady Jackets' deep playoff run a year ago with such a young roster is promising. Coach Lindsey Jones is returning a majority of her players from last year so it's safe to say they'll have a target on their backs in 2024.
