4-star Lone Star State ATH narrows preferred schools list, includes Florida

Four-star athlete Terry Bussey out of Timpson (Texas) announced his top preferred schools on his personal Twitter account Wednesday, including Billy Napier’s Florida Gators among the 11 schools.

Along with UF, the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, TCU Horned Frogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies also made the cut.

The 5-foot-10.5-inch, 180-pound all-around player spent time at quarterback, running back and defensive back at Timpson. Through his junior season, the coveted prospect amassed 7,926 all-purpose yards and 122 touchdowns on the ground and through the air offensively, while adding 270 tackles, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, 24 interceptions and four pick-sixes on defense with four special teams scores.

It is unclear if he plans on making an official visit to Gainesville this summer, but given his close relationship with five-star quarterback commit DJ Lagway, it could be expected.

Bussey is ranked No. 50 overall and No. 4 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 31 and 2, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Texas A&M a clear lead in the race for his talents with a 93.9% chance of landing him, followed by Texas at 2.0%.
