4-star Georgia commit took another visit to Tennessee over the weekend

2024 four-star Georgia commit Demello Jones visited the Tennessee Volunteers over the weekend. This marked his third trip to Knoxville in the last three months.

The defensive back out of Swainsboro, Georgia committed to UGA in March. He recently told 247Sports that his recruitment will  “still be open” moving forward, but that he’s “leaning a lot toward Georgia.”

Jones ranks as the nation’s No. 91 overall player, No. 6 ranked safety and as the No. 13 ranked player in the state of Georgia for the 2024 class.

Jones has been busy the past few weekends. He visited Tennessee on May 27, then was in Athens on June 2, Alabama on June 9 and then Tennessee again this past weekend.

Jones told 247Sports that Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama round out his top-three, but Georgia is still the No. 1.

Jones has visited Tennessee three times since April, but wants to return at least once more to catch a Vols football game this fall.

Jones’ Swainsboro team went 13-1 in 2022, making it to the final of Georgia’s Class A Division 1 playoffs. Last season, he rushed for 1,279 yards (with an average of 10.5 yards per carry) and 20 touchdowns. He also had 382 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns on 14 catches. Defensively, Jones recorded 44 tackles and six pass breakups.

In addition to football, Jones also runs track and plays basketball for Swainsboro.
