3 things to know about former Ohio State football star Nick Bosa ahead of Super Bowl
Nick Bosa will try for his first Super Bowl ring Sunday night.
Bosa will be one of two former Ohio State football players to take the field for the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas Sunday in Super Bowl LVIII, along with Chase Young.
Bosa played three seasons at Ohio State, recording 29 tackles-for-loss and 17.5 sacks in 29 games before being selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the 49ers.

Nick Bosa is playing in his second Super Bowl
Bosa is not playing in his first Super Bowl.
Bosa and the 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs for the second time since 2020 in the Super Bowl. To end Bosa's rookie season, the 49ers lost to the Chiefs 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV.
In his first Super Bowl appearance, Bosa recorded five tackles, one sack, one tackle-for-loss, one pass deflection and two quarterback hits.
Nick Bosa is an award-winning defensive end
In 68 career NFL games, Bosa has already made his mark as an award-winning defensive end.
A four-time Pro Bowl player, Bosa was named as the Associated Press' Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2019 after recording 47 tackles, 16 tackles-for-loss and nine sacks.
In 2022, Bosa added to his trophy case as the AP's Defensive Player of the Year after leading the NFL with 18.5 sacks.
In five NFL seasons, Bosa has the 53.5 sacks and 72 tackles-for-loss.
NFL family tradition
Bosa is in a long line of family members to have played in the NFL.
Nick Bosa followed his brother Joey Bosa's path at Ohio State, who turned 51 career tackles-for-loss and 26 career sacks into becoming the No. 3 overall pick by the Chargers and winning AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.
Nick Bosa's father, John, was selected No. 16 overall in the 1987 NFL draft and played three seasons for the Miami Dolphins.
