Nick Bosa reportedly becomes NFL's highest-paid defensive player with San Francisco 49ers

Nick Bosa will become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

According to ESPN, the former Ohio State and current San Francisco 49ers defensive end has agreed to a five-year, $170 million extension, including $122.5 million guaranteed.

Bosa would earn $34 million per season, which eclipses the annual salary of players such as Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end T.J. Watt and Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Joey Bosa, Nick's brother.

Since being selected as the No. 2 overall pick of the 2019 NFL draft, Nick Bosa has 156 tackles, 56 tackles-for-loss and 43 sacks, including an NFL-leading 18.5 sacks in 2022.

Bosa finished the 2022 season as the Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year and finished sixth in MVP voting. He was also Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2019.
