2022-23 final Philadelphia 76ers player grades: Danuel House Jr.

The 2022-23 season has ended for the Philadelphia 76ers following a Game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics in Round 2 of the playoffs and now is the time for reflection on the season.

The Sixers finished 54-28 and were third in the Eastern Conference behind only the Milwaukee Bucks and the Celtics in the standings. Considering the slow 12-12 start, the season was a success for the Sixers despite the sour and familiar ending.

Now that the season is in the books, now is the time to go back and give a grade to each player on the roster for what they did throughout the season. In this installment, Sixers Wire will look at Danuel House Jr. who was in and out of the rotation.

Thoughts

House Jr. was picked up early in free agency looking to take that next step in the Eastern Conference. He was in the rotation earlier in the season, but after averaging 19.4 minutes in his first 14 games, he played sparingly. Especially, in the second half of the season.

He still had some very nice moments, however. House Jr. played a big role in a Jan. 21 road win over the Sacramento Kings and a March 1 road win over the Miami Heat. His athleticism was a big help for the Sixers whenever his number was called and Philadelphia benefited from his play.

In the playoffs, he didn’t play much in either series. However, he made a huge impact off the bench in the Game 5 road win over the Boston Celtics. He had 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting with five rebounds in the win that put the Sixers up 3-2 in the series. It was another example of just being ready when his number is called.

Final grade: C
