In our opinion, a couch is pretty much the most important part of any living room.

It’s what everyone piles on during a movie marathon, where your friends fight for the best seat during a sports game and where you head for an afternoon nap. So if you’re tired of your worn-out love seat or your hand-me-down sofa, it’s time to upgrade!

We first stumbled upon Ikea’s Friheten sleeper sectional when scrolling through TikTok. User @angelicarose_ posted a video of the couch being put together and how it not only has a hidden storage compartment, but that it can also transform into a full-size bed, making her movie night infinitely better.

The couch itself comes in five neutral colors, including beige, gray and black, and is made up of chaise and sofa sections. You can put the chaise on either side of the sofa depending on your home’s set up and can load up the hidden storage compartment beneath it with anything your heart’s desires… But we’d recommend extra pillows and blankets for when a slumber party strikes or a guest is spending the night last minute!

The sofa section easily expands when you slide out the hidden cushion. And if you want even more space on the couch, the back cushions are also removable. So if you have a smaller living space, this might be the best sectional for your tighter rooms.

One reviewer shared, “This is perfect for my smaller living room. We have been able to line up 4 adults, pull out the extension and seat the family on recliner like seats. For some reason, it is the he most comfortable place to sleep and after many years of use it never sags and looks brand new.”

While most customers said that the couch was easy to put together, the fabric on some cushions began to pill. However, there are replacement slip covers available if needed.
