2017 Draft: What the Raiders’ Rivals Need
With the NFL draft drawing closer, most people know where the Raiders need to add talent and numbers to the secondary. Likewise, many other teams need to add depth on the defensive side of the ball. Yet, don’t be surprised if a ton of offensive talent falls off the board early in a year heavy with offensive potential. In addition, we need to take time and assess what AFC West rivals might do in this year’s draft
First of all, let’s focus on the Broncos. Most notably, 2016 season for their standards, sets as a disappointment.
BRONCOS Needs: OL, TE, DT
The defense ranked fourth best in the league. However, Denver struggled on offense. If they add a TE to compliment the receivers, maybe David Njoku, the pick solves problems. Secondly, experts guess the selection of DT or OL in the first round with names like Malik McDowell and Ryan Ramcyzk fall to mind.

The woeful pass defense screams for an upgrade. Plus, receiving help remains key. Names like Taco Charlton and John Ross could draw interest. In addition; another name thrown into the mix is Derek Barnett. Furthermore, don’t be surprised if they take a lineman, if they’re off the board.
Finally, a look at the Raiders main 2017 obstacle:
CHIEFS Needs: RB, CB, QB
While the statistics appear average, can’t judge the solely on stats.. Andy Reid prepares better than most and schemes like few. There are a few players to enhance the roster during the draft. On one hand, a young back such as Dalvin Cook would fit their scheme. The most recent QB linked is Texas Tech’s Mahomes but he could be off the board.
Kansas City ranked 18th in passing yards allowed in 2016. As a result, a good fit is Kevin King CB. King rose up draft boards. Standing 6’3 with excellent speed, King reach serves as a deterrent to throwing close. Finally, with the draft near, AFC West rivals also need defense
