The 2017 CMA Awards Performers Were Just Announced and We Are Freaking Out
At the Country Music Association Awards, there's only one thing we look forward to more than the cute couples and tear-jerking acceptance speeches-and that's the live performances. They don't call it "Country Music's Biggest Night" for nothin'! It's hard to imagine anything could top last year's lineup, but we reckon this initial list of performers will get you excited for the 2017 show.
The 51st Annual CMA Awards airs on November 8 at 8 p.m. EST and will feature performances by nominees Garth Brooks, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Jon Pardi, Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, and Carrie Underwood (who's hosting with Brad Paisley for the 10th year in a row!).
Alan Jackson will also be taking the stage for the 24th time, and as the 2017 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee and a 16-time CMA Awards winner (out of 81 nominations!), he might just steal the whole show. But with so much talent coming out this year, it's a toss-up as to who will bring the best performance.
Carrie Underwood is up for Female Vocalist of the Year, as is Miranda Lambert. This year marks Miranda's 11th nomination in the category. She's won the title the last six consecutive years and holds a grand total of 12 CMA wins-the most of any female ever. After last year's beautiful duet with Keith Urban, we can't wait to see what she does this November.
And with the most Entertainer of the Year awards to date (5!), Garth Brooks is sure to exceed all of our expectations. We just hope he brings fellow country legend-and gorgeous wife-Trisha Yearwood back on stage with him again.
You can also count on an "Unforgettable" returning performance from Thomas Rhett, who took home his first CMA Award, Single of the Year, for "Die A Happy Man" last year. Now, he's nominated for Male Vocalist as well as Musical Event and Music Video for "Craving You," featuring Maren Morris.
