Moving on from the potential first round selection of safety Jabrill Peppers, today, we take a look at a player that could also be the Bills first round draft pick. Background

A part of arguably the NCAA’s best cornerback duo this past season, Quincy Wilson — along with Teez Tabor — is the next in a long line of NFL Florida cornerbacks. Going pro with his partner in crime this offseason, it will be interesting to see where Wilson ends up in this years NFL Draft.

Seen as someone that could be taken between the first and third rounds of the draft, Wilson is a first round talent without a doubt. However, given the talent of this years cornerback class, he could fall down the totem pole. Either way, whoever takes him will have a day one starter at cornerback and a long term option at the position.

Strengths

Possesses prototypical size for an NFL cornerback and is someone that also plays big in his coverage. Extremely competitive when he is on the field and will fight for every ball thrown his way. Despite not being the fastest or most athletic player in this draft class, he just may be the most competitive. This is something that should give him an advantage at the NFL level.

Can make quick reads and diagnoses plays pretty quickly. Not afraid to attack downhill in order to intercept the pass or land a big hit. Is a cornerback that can go into the backfield and make some big tackles on the ball carrier. Presents some major power behind his hits when he wants it.

Weakness

Has some issues getting unstuck when turning his hips and moving his feet to try and change his body position. Has had some big issues with his feet in the past but these issues can be addressed with some solid coaching. Like to go to hands when he feels he may be beat, leading to more than a few flags.

Doesn’t have the athleticism that many coaches like and will struggle to maintain his speed deep downfield. Due to this, Wilson has a habit of allowing major spacing between himself and some receivers. Can play too tall at times and limit his speed and reaction time.05
