Which of these 13 athletes stood out the most in the latest Gardner area games?

Last week, readers chose the Quabbin girls tennis doubles pair of Elizabeth Matheson and Maddie Stauder as The Gardner News Athletes of the Week. Matheson and Stauder earned 58.37% of the vote for their doubles performance that solidified the win for Quabbin against Littleton on April 24.

Second on the poll for the week of April 22 was Colin Allain of Monty Tech boys lacrosse. Allain scored four goals against Worcester on April 22 and then a hat trick the next day against Bay Path.

Baseball

Ty Curtis, Oakmont

Curtis went 2-for-2 and scored two runs against Groton-Dunstable on April 29. Oakmont took the victory, 5-1.

Ian Haupt, Quabbin

Haupt went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Quabbin past Gardner 9-3 on April 29.

Kyle Pernaa, Monty Tech

Pernaa lead Monty Tech to a 3-1 victory on May 3 with an RBI double early in the game.

Joey Pineyro, Narragansett Regional

The senior led the Warriors to a 7-5 win over Gardner on May 1 both offensively and defensively. On the mound, Pineyro earned 10 strikeouts and at the plate collected three hits.

Softball

Emma McNamara, Gardner

McNamara went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs to lead the Wildcats to an extra innings victory over Quabbin on April 29.

Maggie Pernaa, Monty Tech

Pernaa had a big game against Narragansett on April 29, helping the Bulldogs to a 12-8 win. She went 3-for-3 including a home run and two RBIs.

Girls Tennis

Carlee Rich, Quabbin

Rich secured four singles wins last week against Worcester South, Gardner, North Middlesex and Clinton to now total eight wins this season.

Boys Lacrosse

Brayden Nally, Oakmont

Nally scored a hat trick in Oakmont's 7-5 win against Groton-Dunstable on May 2.

Girls Golf

Kylie Casey, Quabbin

The senior led Quabbin to a 26.5-5.5 win against Worcester on May 3. Casey shot 25 over six holes.

Boys Track & Field

Justin Kipp, Oakmont

Kipp won the shot put and discus throws at a meet on May 1 to help Oakmont defeat Groton-Dunstable 105-35.

Evan Locke, Monty Tech

Locke brought in two first-place finishes (long jump and 400 meter) to lead Monty Tech over Parker Charter 75-56.

Girls Track & Field

Katie Daykin, Monty Tech

Daykin was a triple winner at a meet against Parker Charter on May 3, placing first in the long jump, triple jump and 200 meters.

Natalia Marchand, Quabbin

The senior placed first in the long jump at the District E Invitational at Westborough High on May 4.
