Zlatan Ibrahimovic offered LA Galaxy move to become highest-paid player in MLS history

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been offered the chance of a mega million pound move to LA Galaxy and end his spell at Manchester United after one season.

United are desperate for the 35-year-old to extend his Premier League stay for another year, but multiple sources in the United States are confirming the rival move for the striker.

LA want to make Ibrahimovic the highest paid player in MLS history. He is currently earning around £11 million a year at United, so the offer from the USA would eclipse that.

LA have tried previously to lure Ibrahimovic. Talks were held with the player prior to him joining United but he was eager to fulfil his ambition to parade his skill in England, something he has achieved with aplomb during this campaign with his 26 goals.

United believe they can convince him to trigger the additional year in his contract, but even Jose Mourinho recently suggested it might be necessary for fans to camp outside his house to convince him to commit for one more year.

“I never beg for a player to sign a contract, I never beg for a player to play for me,” Mourinho said after the recent EFL Cup Final.

“One day Zlatan decided to go to Barcelona and I was very sad and did nothing to try to stop him to go. But, if needed, I think maybe United fans can go to the door of his house and stay there all night.”

Ibrahimovic’s contribution is such he is destined to be United’s Player of the Year, and is a contender for both the PFA and FWA Player of the Year such has been his influence at Old Trafford.

He is currently serving a three match ban having accepted a violent conduct chargefollowing his altercation with Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings during United’s 1-1 draw last weekend.
