Wisconsin-Green Bay 64, Illinois-Chicago 63

Keifer Sykes hit a game-winning 3-pointer with one second left in regulation on Friday to lift Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 64-63 Horizon League tournament victory over Illinois-Chicago at Valparaiso's Athletics-Recreation Center.

The Flames led 63-61 with seven seconds to play after Gary Talton was fouled by Sykes and broke a 61-61 tie by making a pair of free throws.

Daniel Barnes' desperation 3-pointer failed as time expired.

The fourth seeded Phoenix (18-14) will meet No. 1 Valparaiso on Saturday for a berth in Tuesday's championship game. That winner earns an automatic NCAA tournament berth.

Illinois-Chicago (17-15) rallied from a 58-52 deficit and took a 59-58 lead on Hayden Humes' 3-pointer with 3:05 left in regulation. Green Bay tied the game on an Alec Brown free throw and the teams traded field goals in a 21-second span, leaving a 61-61 tie heading into the waning seconds.

Humes scored a game-high 23 points while Josh Crittle and Talton each added 12. Alec Brown paced Green Bay with 17 points while Sykes added 15.

The teams split regular season games with victories on their respective home courts.
