White Sox-Tigers finale gets pushed back to Monday

That's what Thursday night's rainout in Chicago did for the Detroit Tigers and the White Sox; the showdown was merely postponed, not prevented.
The difference is Justin Verlander and Chris Sale won't be staging a rematch of their nationally televised matchup of two Sundays ago.
Verlander will now pitch Friday night in Cleveland against the Indians, while Sale will work Friday against the Minnesota Twins.
The makeup will happen Monday afternoon in Chicago, and it will feature the Tigers' Doug Fister against the White Sox's Gavin Floyd.
Manager Jim Leyland will keep his starters in order, as of now, with Anibal Sanchez and Rick Porcello pitching Saturday and Sunday, respectively, against the Indians.
Instead of having Monday to give all his rotation members an extra day of rest between starts, they will now go on the usual four days between starts.
Fister thus won't open Detroit's final homestand of the season; Max Scherzer will now oppose Oakland, with Verlander and Sanchez to follow.
Detroit will face the same three Cleveland pitchers who took two out of three from them earlier in the month: Corey Kluber, Justin Masterson and Ubaldo Jimenez.
