UFC Fight Night 28 Medical Suspensions: Jacare Souza Could Be Sidelined for Six Months
The UFC Fight Night 28 medical suspension list covered every fighter on the card, the Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) revealed to MMAWeekly.com.
Every fighter on the card received a 14-day mandatory suspension with no contact for seven days, as a precautionary measure. Three fighters could be sidelined up to six months, including middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
UFC Fight Night 28: Teixeira vs. Bader took place on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Mineirinho Arena in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Glover Teixeira earned a UFC light heavyweight title shot with his first-round finish of Ryan Bader.
UFC Fight Night 28 Medical Suspensions
Glover Teixeira is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
Ryan Bader is suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
Jacaré Souza is suspended for 180 days unless he gets an x-ray on his right foot and/or is released by doctors.
Joseph Benavidez is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Jussier Formiga is suspended for 180 days unless he gets an x-ray on his right foot and/or is released by doctors.
Francisco Trinaldo is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
Piotr Hallmann is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
Rafael Natal is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Tor Troeng is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
Marcos Vinicius is suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
Ali Bagautinov is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Kevin Souza is suspended for 180 days and/or is released by doctors after having surgery on his right hand.
Lucas Martins is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Junior Hernandez is suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
João Zeferino is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Elias Silvério is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Keith Wisniewski is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Ivan Jorge is suspended for 14 days with no contact for 7 days.
Yuri Villefort is suspended for 21 days with no contact for 14 days.
Sean Spencer is suspended for 21 days with no contact for 14 days.
