TUF 17 Finale Medical Suspensions: 16 of 24 Combatants Suspended

The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale medical suspensions were released to MMAWeekly.com on Monday by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Sixteen of the event’s 24 fighters, including both main event fighters, Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen, received medical suspensions.

Faber finished Jorgensen in the TUF 17 Finale main event, Kelvin Gastelum earned The Ultimate Fighter designation by upsetting favorite Uriah Hall, and Cat Zingano earned a spot as a coach on TUF 18 and a shot at UFC champion Ronda Rousey with her third-round stoppage of Miesha Tate.

The TUF 17 Finale took place Saturday, April 13, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

TUF 17 Finale Medical Suspensions:

Urijah Faber: Suspended until May 14 with no contact until May 5 due to right hand pain.

Scott Jorgensen: Must have his right wrist x-rayed. If positive, then he needs an orthopedic doctor’s clearance. He faces a minimum suspension until May 14 with no contact prior to May 5.

Kelvin Gastelum: Must have right forearm x-rayed. If positive, then he needs an orthopedic doctor’s clearance. He faces a minimum suspension until May 14 with no contact prior to May 5.

Cat Zingano: Must have left hand x-rayed. If positive, then needs an orthopedic doctor’s clearance. She faces a minimum suspension until May 14 with no contact prior to May 5.

Miesha Tate: Must have ear, nose, and throat doctor’s clearance on her nose or she is suspended until Oct. 11. She faces a minimum suspension until June 13 with no contact prior to May 29.

Gabriel Gonzaga: Suspended until May 29 with no contact prior to May 14.

Bubba McDaniel: Suspended until May 29 with no contact prior to May 14.

Kevin Casey: Suspended until June 13 with no contact prior to May 29.

Luke Barnatt: Suspended until May 29 with no contact prior to May 14 due to right eye laceration.

Collin Hart: Must have nasal fracture and left ankle cleared by a doctor or he is suspended until Oct. 11. He faces a minimum suspension until May 29 with no contact prior to May 14.

Jimmy Quinlan: Suspended until May 29 with no contact prior to May 14.

Bristol Marunde: Suspended until May 14 with no contact prior to May 5 due to a laceration.

Cole Miller: Suspended until May 5 with no contact prior to April 29.

Maximo Blanco: Suspended until May 14 with no contact prior to May 5.

Sam Sicilia: Suspended until May 14 with no contact prior to May 5 due to right thumb injury and right eye laceration.

Justin Lawrence: Suspended until May 14 with no contact prior to April 29.
