Trailer Released for the Final Season of 'True Blood'
The first full-length trailer has been released for True Blood's seventh and final season. Check it out below!
The clip for the HBO vampire drama picks up with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) preparing to accept responsibility for the chaos and bloodshed unleashed on the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, by the Hep-V vampires. "People blame me for what's happened to this town. I can't take anyone else dying because of me," says Paquin in a voiceover.
With The Wright Brothers' "Blood on My Name" playing in the background as the clip closes, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) warns, "It looks like the past has caught up with the present."
We don't see Alexander Skarsgard's Eric Northman in the video, but he is expected to show up this season.
During an interview with TV Guide late last year, executive producer Brian Buckner said that the 6-month time jump of season six will allow the show to return to its roots in the seventh season. He said, "It's a bit of a reset, and it's also establishing a story that is for every vampire, a human, for every human, a vampire. It's to try to return to the show's promise in Season 1, which is if vampires exist, let's examine the relationships between humans and vampires. By putting all of our characters essentially into one story, now it's Bon Temps vs. the world. The characters people love will get more screen time, because these stories don't have separate demands. We just get to tell a simpler story and then experience them through our characters."
True Blood will kick off its final season June 22 at 9 p.m.
