Thunder's Westbrook to make season debut

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook will make his season debut Sunday night against the visiting Phoenix Suns.

Westbrook, who had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee in October, was expected to miss the first four to six weeks of the season.

Russell passed all of the required physical exams and rehab goals to get clearance by doctors and team officials to play.

Westbrook tore his right meniscus in Game 2 of the Thunder's first-round playoff series with the Houston Rockets last April after starting all 82 games of the regular season.

He averaged 23.2 points and 7.4 assists per game.
