The major thing missing from President Trump’s inaugural balls?

That thing called star power.

In fairness, the president himself told Fox, “I don’t want the celebrities. I want the people.”

The only notable boldfaced name that turned up to the Liberty Ball was Caitlyn Jenner. The Washington Post noted that she hung out in the back and was accosted by selfie-seekers.

The reality star wore a dark blue one-shoulder dress and carried a snakeskin clutch. Her hair was curled and nails painted bright red.

In all, there were three balls on Friday night: Liberty and Freedom, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and a third, Salute to Our Armed Services Ball, at the National Building Museum.

Melania Trump attended the events wearing a white gown that she helped Hervé Pierre design. It featured an off-the-shoulder silhouette and high leg slit. As for Ivanka Trump, she sparkled in a princess dress from Carolina Herrera.
