Suspension for Oklahoma LB Shannon upheld by state Supreme Court

Oklahoma linebacker Frank Shannon has not appeared in a game for the Sooners this season, and likely will not after the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of the school's one-year suspension for the star linebacker.

Shannon, the Sooners' leading tackler in 2013, was suspended for one year by OU after the school found he had violated the Title IX sexual misconduct policy. However, a Cleveland County District Court judge issued a stay allowing Shannon to remain enrolled in school and a part of the football program.

According to The Oklahoman, the Supreme Court not only ruled against the stay on Monday, but also for the documents in Shannon's case to remain sealed. The Oklahoman first reported that Shannon was being accused of sexual assault by a female student in April.
