Suns unite Morris twins

The Morris twins have officially been reunited.

The Phoenix Suns announced Thursday the acquisition of second-year forward Marcus Morris from the Houston Rockets for a second-round pick in 2013, uniting him with identical twin Markieff.

Born seven minutes apart, the pair was drafted about five minutes apart, chosen with consecutive picks in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Suns and Rockets, respectively. The two also played together for three years at the University of Kansas.

"We have been intrigued for quite some time about the potential synergy from having both of the Morris twins on our team," said Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby said in a statement. "So we are excited to have the opportunity to welcome Marcus to the Suns."

The Morris twins are the second set of twins in NBA history to become teammates, joining Dick and Tom Van Arsdale, who were teammates with the Suns in 1976-77.
