Here is a story about Ian Poulter that sums him up perfectly

Paul McGinley gave an interview to the Irish Independent recently in which he said he wishes he'd had a little more "f--- you" to him over the course of his career.

That wasn't even my favorite part of the interview, though. That came when McGinley told a story about Ian Poulter from the 2011 Seve Trophy (which is played between Great Britain and Ireland against Continental Europe in non-Ryder Cup years).

"I remember standing on the 18th fairway with Poulter in the singles," said McGinley. "He was playing (Matteo) Manassero and the pin was tucked left over the water. I said, 'Poults we don't any need heroics here, all we need is a half to win the match.' But there was a big crowd around the green and he looked at me and says: 'What about the crowd?'"

That is Ian Poulter in four sentences. You don't even need to know anything else.

But there's more.

"With a big smile on his face. In other words: 'Don't deny me my stage.' I looked at him (sternly) and he says, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah' and hit a safe shot into the right side of the pin and holed the putt."

As always Ian Poulter is the best.
