South Carolina QB Shaw questionable for Missouri

South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw, who injured his knee in Saturday's loss to Tennessee, probably will not be lost for the season as originally feared, but his status for Saturday's game against Missouri is unclear.

Shaw was diagnosed with a severely sprained knee, which is a less severe injury that initially suspected.

Coach Steve Spurrier said Sunday that Shaw will not need surgery.

"Injury-wise, Connor Shaw is actually walking around a little bit," Spurrier said, according to CoGamecocks.com. "No surgery or anything. I'm not sure what his status will be later in the week."

If Shaw cannot play Saturday, Dylan Thompson would be the Gamecocks' starting quarterback.

He has completed 29 of his 51 passes for 421 yards and two touchdown with two interceptions.
