Soccer Hooliganism Reaches America
Soccer fanaticism has slowly been making its way across the pond, but an incident prior to Sunday’s New York Red Bulls and NYC FC match may have proven that it has officially arrived.
Supporters of each team clashed outside a Newark pub, unleashing chants and flying projectiles at one another. It was soccer hooliganism at its finest.
In the match that actually mattered, the Red Bulls defeated NYC FC 2-0.
No injuries were reported during the fan altercation and the crowd dispersed quickly at the sound of police sirens. One thing is for certain, we’re making Europe proud.
