Seahawks sign three, including Ruud

The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms on one-year contracts with cornerback Roy Lewis, offensive lineman Deuce Lutui and linebacker Barrett Ruud, the team announced Friday.

Lewis is a former University of Washington player who had been on the Seahawks' practice squad prior to moving into their nickel package the last two seasons. He also captains Seattle's special teams.

Ruud played linebacker for six seasons in Tampa Bay before joining the Tennessee Titans last year. Ruud, 28, made more than 100 tackles in a season twice for Tampa Bay. He played nine games and made 57 tackles for Tennessee last year. Seattle recently lost starting linebacker David Hawthorne to the Saints.

Lutui played at USC when current Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was in charge of the Trojans. He played the last six seasons for the Arizona Cardinals.
