Reports: Washington State WR River Cracraft tears ACL

Washington State has reportedly lost one of its best players for the rest of the season.

According to Scout.com and the Seattle Times, senior receiver River Cracraft suffered a torn ACL during the Cougars’ win over Cal on Saturday night. The injury marks the end of his career.

Cracraft caught nine passes for 87 yards and three touchdowns in the 56-21 win. On the his catch of the night in the third quarter, Cracraft injured his knee. Per the Times, Cracraft “struggled to stand and had to be helped off the field by trainers.”

Cracraft is currently second on the team behind Gabe Marks with 701 receiving yards. His 53 catches and five scores are third on the team behind Marks and Tavares Martin Jr. Cracraft is second in program history behind Marks with 218 career catches. Additionally, he is sixth in program history with 20 touchdown catches and 2,638 receiving yards.

His best season came as a sophomore in 2014, when he had 66 catches for 771 yards and eight scores.

Marks, who leads the team with 68 catches for 709 yards and 12 scores and became the Pac-12’s all-time receptions leader Saturday night, tweeted about Cracraft’s injury.

After starting the season 0-2, Wazzu has won eight in row heading into next weekend’s game at No. 12 Colorado.
