Reports: Mets close to signing P Lyon

The New York Mets are close to reaching a deal with free-agent relief pitcher Brandon Lyon, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

It's unclear what the terms of the agreement would be, and MLB.com reported that the deal has not been finalized and Lyon is still talking with other teams.

Lyon, 33, was 4-2 with a 3.10 earned run average with the Blue Jays and Astros last season.

He was 4-0 with a 2.88 ERA after being acquired by Toronto.
