Report: Odom traded to Clippers

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to send Lamar Odom to the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team transaction that would send guard Mo Williams from the Clippers to the Utah Jazz and leave the Mavericks receiving a trade exception, the Dallas Morning News reported Thursday.

.Williams can exercise his $8.5 million player option for next season, but if he declines, he will become a free agent. He averaged 13.2 points, and 3.1 assists in 52 games, including one start, for the Clip[pers this past season.

By trading Odom, the Mavs do not have to buy out the final year of his contract, saving the team $2.4 million against the salary cap.

Odom was traded by the Lakers to the Mavericks in December, but his time with the Mavericks was not productive. He averaged just 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for Dallas, and Odom and the Mavs agreed to part ways on April 9.

It had been reported that Odom, 32, wanted to return to Los Angeles.
