Report: NFL may play eight games a year in England

The NFL is considering playing eight games a year in England, Peter King said Sunday night on Football Night in America.

That schedule would call for a different team to play in each of the eight games in a given season, and every team would play in London at least once every three years.

The 49ers beat Jacksonville on Sunday in the second of two NFL games scheduled for London this season with three more NFL games scheduled to be played in England next year.

Commissioner Roger Goodell had said on Saturday that he wants to put a team in both London and Los Angeles. However, there seems to be no plans to expand beyond 32 teams.
