Report: Iguodala to opt out of contract

Denver Nuggets forward Andre Iguodala plans to opt out of his contract and become a free agent, Yahoo! Sports reported Friday.

Iguodala is entering the final year of his deal but has until June 25 to exercise an early termination clause.

"We are fully aware of Andre's intentions and he's well aware of how much we want him back," Nuggets CEO Josh Kroenke said. "Andre is a huge priority for our organization."

Iguodala will make $15.9 million next season if he decides not to opt out. He can also sign a contract extension of up to five years with Denver or four years with another team as a free agent.

Iguodala averaged 13 points, 5.5 assists and 5.3 rebounds last season. He spent the first eight seasons of his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers.
