Report: Eagles to hire Shurmur as OC

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to hire Pat Shurmur to serve as offensive coordinator for new head coach Chip Kelly, according to ESPN.com.

Shurmur, 47, was fired after two seasons as the Cleveland Browns' head coach, but he would bring valued NFL experience to Kelly's staff.

Shumur worked for the Eagles from 1999-2008, first as the tight ends coach and then as the quarterbacks coach beginning in 2002. He left to become the St. Louis Rams' offensive coordinator for two seasons before taking over in Cleveland in 2011.

He went 9-23 in two seasons in Cleveland.
