Report: A's agree to deal with RHP Humber
The Oakland A's agreed to a minor league deal with right-hander Philip Humber, the Bay Area News Group reported Sunday.
The Houston Astros made Humber a free agent on Oct. 3 by declining a $3 million club option for next season. Humber, 30, had a 7.90 ERA in 54 2/3 innings, mainly as a reliever.
Humber threw a perfect game with the Chicago White Sox in 2012.
He will likely compete for a bullpen spot with Oakland.
Humber, a former first-round draft pick, has a career 5.31 ERA in 371 major league innings.
