Red Wings' Kronwall suffers another injury

Detroit defenseman Niklas Kronwall was hit with a puck in the mouth during the morning skate and will be a game-time decision when the Red Wings face the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night.

Misfortune struck Kronwell again as he was preparing to return from a concussion that sidelined him for the last two games. After Kronwell took the puck to the face on Wednesday morning, he was taken to a dentist for treatment.

In the event that Kronwell cannot play, rookie defenseman Xavier Ouellet was recalled from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. Ouellet made his NHL debut on Monday night in a game against the San Jose Sharks.

Kronwell has one goal and five assists in eight games this season.

The Red Wings are short on defensemen with the loss of Jonathan Ericsson for two to three weeks with a shoulder injury.
