Ravens deal LT McKinnie to Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins acquired offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie from the Baltimore Ravens for a conditional late-round draft pick.

Baltimore benched McKinnie after acquiring Eugene Monroe earlier in the season. The Ravens weren't pleased that McKinnie reported to training camp overweight and continued to struggle with his conditioning during the season.

However, Miami is in need of offensive line help as quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been sacked a league-high 26 times this season. Left tackle Jonathan Martin and right tackle Tyson Clabo have combined to allow 14 sacks. Clabo, signed as a free agent over the offseason after being released by Atlanta, gave up two sacks Sunday and will face immediate competition from McKinnie.

"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with the Ravens for Bryant," said Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland. "He is a proven and experienced player who will be a great addition to the offensive line."

McKinnie, 34, returns to Miami, where he played collegiately.

McKinnie was the seventh overall pick in the 2002 draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He joined the Ravens in 2011.
