Rams sign Shaun Hill to be backup QB

The St. Louis Rams signed veteran quarterback Shaun Hill to be a backup on their roster, according to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

St. Louis' quarterback situation will be in flux this offseason as the Rams are expected to select a quarterback in the upcoming draft. That would give them the option of starting Sam Bradford or a potential rookie, with Hill on board as a veteran backup.

After signing with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent in 2002, Hill eventually ended up in Detroit after a stint with San Francisco, where he backed up Matthew Stafford.

Hill also earned some starts in relief for Stafford when the first-overall pick suffered some injuries early into his career. In his career, Hill has thrown for 6,381 yards, 41 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.
