Questions about Steve Smith's role cloud value

Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith will be wearing a new uniform for the first time in his career this Sunday, as he gets set to make his Ravens debut in Week 1 against the Bengals.

Smith has historically been a good Week 1 performer, having scored at least 10 Fantasy points in four straight season openers, but that streak could come to an end this season. He is set to be the No. 2 receiver for the Ravens, and has a tough matchup on the way against a Bengals defense that allowed the ninth-fewest Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers a year ago.

The Ravens No. 2 receiver managed just seven receptions for 47 yards in two games against the Bengals a year ago, though Marlon Brown did manage to find the end zone. Smith might find a consistent role in the Ravens offense, but none of our Fantasy experts have him listed as a starting-caliber option for Sunday's game. He is enough of a question mark at this point that he is hard to rely on in most Fantasy leagues for Week 1.
