Press Box: Ohio U. cancels basketball game after robbery
Ohio University canceled its men's basketball game Wednesday night against Eastern Michigan classes as a precaution after a morning armed robbery near campus.
The suspect remained at large Wednesday afternoon after he robbed a woman of $5 at an apartment complex and fled toward a campus building.
Students were told to return to their residences, and non-essential employees were allowed to leave for the day.
According to the school's website, "efforts will be made to reschedule" the Mid-American Conference game against Eastern Michigan.
NHL
--An MRI performed Wednesday revealed that New York Rangers forward Ryan Callahan suffered a shoulder subluxation. Callahan is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 14 days, NHL.com reported.
Callahan was injured while fighting with Maxime Talbot during Tuesday night's 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
--New York Islanders forward Colin McDonald received a two-game suspension from the NHL for boarding Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ben Lovejoy during Tuesday night's game.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced the suspension after a Wednesday hearing.
GOLF
Vijay Singh was unaware that a deer-antler spray he admitted using contained a substance banned by the PGA Tour.
Singh, who has won 34 PGA tournament titles in his career, told Sports Illustrated that he paid $9,000 to SWATS, the company that said it sold the spray to Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and college football players from Alabama and LSU, for its products.
The deer-antler spray contains a performance-enhancer similar to human growth hormone.
"While I have used deer antler spray, at no time was I aware that it may contain a substance that is banned under the PGA Tour Anti-Doping Policy," Singh, 49, said in a statement at the Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti and actress Ashley Judd are breaking up after 11 years of marriage.
People magazine reported the split Tuesday night, and the couple later confirmed it in a statement.
Franchitti, 39, and Judd were married in 2001 in Franchitti's native Scotland. She had been a constant presence in his pits at IndyCar and NASCAR races over the years. Franchitti is a four-time Izod IndyCar series champion.
