PREMIER LEAGUE: Everton 3 Chelsea 1

Supersub Steven Naismith grabs a hat-trick to pile on the misery for champions who suffer a third defeat in five matches while Everton move into the top five

Supersub Steven Naismith grabbed a sensational hat-trick as Everton continued to make life miserable for the champions.

Naismith came on after just nine minutes when Muhamed Besic suffered a hamstring injury but made his mark in stunning style.

He scored after 17 and 22 minutes as Chelsea became the leakiest defence in the top flight with 11 goals conceded in five matches.

Naismith completed his hat-trick eight minutes from time to finally snuff out Chelsea's challenge.

Last season Jose Mourinho's side won 6-3 at Goodison Park en route to the title but this time round they only had a Nemanja Matic screamer to show for all their pressure.

The visitors had been much improved after the break and dominated possession but just could not force an equaliser and slumped to a third defeat in five Premier League matches - the same number they lost in the whole of last season.
