It's possible Fisher could go back to Lakers

Veteran guard Derek Fisher is eligible to return to the Los Angeles Lakers in the event that the team wants him back.

NBA officials verified that the Lakers could re-sign the 38-year-old Fisher without a waiting period, ESPN.com reported.

It was reported previously that Fisher could not return to the Lakers until next March because of a one-year waiting period after the Lakers traded him to Houston. But the Rockets bought out Fisher before he could invoke a contract option for this season and that means he's eligible for free agency on July 1.

Fisher finished last season with Oklahoma City, which reached the NBA Finals.

The Lakers apparently are interested in listening to trade offers for Chris Duhon or Steve Blake.
