Packers cut suspended DE Hargrove

The Green Bay Packers released defensive end Anthony Hargrove on Friday.

Hargrove, a former New Orleans Saint, is on suspension for eight games because of his role in the "bounty gate" scandal.

Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange and SiriusXM NFL Radio first reported the move.

The Packers would not have had to use up a roster spot if they kept Hargrove since he is suspended for the first eight games of the season.

Hargrove was cut by the Saints after last season.

Green Bay also announced that it let go of wide receiver Andrew Brewer, safety Micah Pellerin, tackle Herb Taylor and cornerback Dion Turner.
