Pacers lose F Granger for three months

Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger will miss three months after undergoing a procedure on his left knee, the team announced Thursday.

Granger's injury was described as left patellar tendinosis. The Pacers said he received an injection on Tuesday from Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Without Granger, the Pacers will be searching for offense to offset his loss. Granger averaged 18.3 points per game last season and led Indiana to the Eastern Conference semifinals. He has led the team in scoring the past five seasons.

Gerald Green had started at forward in Granger's absence before coach Frank Vogel turned to Sam Young this week.

The Pacers (2-2) play in Atlanta on Wednesday night.
