Ohio 65, Morgan State 62

BALTIMORE -- Junior guard Stevie Taylor converted a three-point play in the final seconds, lifting Ohio to a 65-62 victory over Morgan State on Wednesday evening at Hill Field House.

Morgan State secured a rebound on a missed free throw and scored on a putback with 28 seconds to play to tie the game at 62-62, but the Bobcats answered at the other end. Taylor drove to the basket, drew a foul and scored with 2.2 seconds remaining.

Junior forward Maurice Ndour had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Bobcats, who got their first road win of the season and posted their first nonconference road win since beating Northern Iowa in December 2011. Senior forward Jon Smith scored all nine of his points in the second half.

Senior center Ian Chiles and senior guard Justin Black scored 17 points apiece for the Bears, who have yet to win a game after being picked to finish second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Ohio improved to 3-1. The Bobcats opened the season with a victory over Northern Iowa, suffered a 79-69 loss to Ohio State and beat Valparaiso 76-72 on Sunday.

Morgan State improved fell to 0-4 after opening the season with losses to Ohio State, Towson and San Diego. The Bears lost those games by an average of 18.3 points.

This was just the second meeting between Morgan State and Ohio. The Bobcats beat the Bears 61-53 in 2011 in Athens, Ohio. Ohio improved to 10-0 all-time against MEAC opponents.
